About Rosalie
Rosalie Hale was born to a middle-class family in 1915. Her father had a good job at a bank and her mother was a housewife. Her parents were social climbers and Rosalie, who was extraordinarily beautiful, was the ticket they needed to reach their social aspiration.
While growing up, Rosalie dreamed of a lavish life--a life with a rich husband and children just as beautiful as she was. She also wanted a big house that someone else would clean and a big lawn to play on with these beautiful children. Her parents influenced her want of material things, which made her very vain and conceded.
In Rochester, where she grew up, there was only one family that had what Rosalie and her parents wanted--the Kings. Royce King owned the bank Rosalie’s father worked at and her parents new he had a son. Royce II was working at the bank, learning the ropes to one day take over for his father. That is when he first saw Rosalie. She thought it was strange that her father had forgotten his lunch, so she was sent by her mother to take it to him.
Rosalie and Royce met and started dating. Not long after they were engaged and Rosalie was getting everything she ever wanted, but deep inside she knew she wasn’t really happy. When she went to visite her best friend Vera, she alkways had a good time. Vera was married and already had a baby boy. He had dark curly hair, big brown eyes and dimples. That was exactly what Rosalie wanted.
It was getting late so Rosalie started walking home. She didn’t live too far. On her walk, she was thinking about how cold it was and she hoped the weather would be nice for the wedding, it was coming up shortly. In the dim light from the street lamps she could see a crowd of people--men talking and laughing very loud. Rosaliethought they were drunk so she just continued walking until one of the men called out her name. it was Royce and his friends.
Rosalie walked up to them to say hello when Royce grabbed her waist and said “ I told you she was beautiful”. than he ripped her jacket open and all the gold buttons flew all over the street. The next thing Rosalie remembered was being cold, in pain, and than she felt like she was flying. She knew someone was carrying her.
There was a lot of pain after that and than when it stopped she was very scared. She recognized dr. Cullen and his son Edward, but she didn’t really know them. They explained to her what she was and she decided to stay with them.
